Guntersville, AL — Citizens Bank & Trust proudly hosted its annual Citizens Business Summit on September 24, 2024, at the Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge, attracting over 200 attendees from the small business community, government leaders, entrepreneurs, and community leaders for a day of networking and education.

The summit featured a variety of informative sessions designed to educate and inspire attendees. “With our Business Summit, we strive to reflect our commitment to being a resource to the communities we serve.   Being an institution that is more than just a place that accepts deposits and makes loans is important to us, and a significant part of how we view our duty to the communities we serve” said Charlie Williams, President and CEO of Citizens Bank & Trust. “We believe there is a lasting impact made if we can provide resources and facilitate connections among local leaders.   We Choose to Make a Difference is a Core Value of Citizens Bank & Trust, and a responsibility we feel deeply.   We are honored by the support we have every year for our Business Summit, and look forward to this event each year.”

Marketing Officer, Kasey Culbert said, “At Citizens Bank & Trust, we understand that a thriving business climate is essential for community growth, and education is a big part of that. Our goal is to empower local businesses by offering the resources and support they need to succeed and the Summit serves as a “mini-conference” to help us in achieving that goal.”

The 2024 Citizens Business Summit featured Jack Vonder Heide, an expert in Artificial Intelligence and Dr. Loren Scott, economist and professor at Louisiana State University. The keynote address for this year was presented by James Olson, Former CIA Director of Counterintelligence, and though more motivational than educational, he communicated his stories of being a spy along with his wife, Meredith, and his patriotism in an impactful way. Student Tellers from the Citizens Wildcat Branch and Citizens Aggie Branch from Guntersville and Albertville High Schools also attended and helped at the Summit. The bank enjoys providing this professional development opportunity to the students each year as part of their curriculum for the school branches.
